Key Considerations for Conveyor Belt Selection
Material characteristics: Select the appropriate belt material based on the type of material being conveyed (e.g., solids, liquids, powders). For example, when conveying high-temperature materials, a high-temperature-resistant conveyor belt should be used; when conveying corrosive materials, an acid- and alkali-resistant conveyor belt should be selected.
Conveyor system requirements: Consider factors such as conveyor length, conveying capacity, and belt tension. For short-distance belt conveyors, polyester fabric-core belts are recommended; for high-capacity, long-distance, steeply inclined, and high-tension belt conveyors, steel-cord-core belts are recommended.
Working environment and safety considerations: including factors such as ambient temperature, humidity, and dust levels, as well as whether flame-retardant and antistatic properties are required.
Belt width and belt speed: The belt width should be sufficiently wide to prevent large chunks in the conveyed lumped and powdered mix from accumulating against the edge of the conveyor belt; the belt speed should be selected based on factors such as the characteristics of the material being conveyed, the required conveying capacity, and the tension of the conveyor belt used.
